The Encounter

When you have an Encounter with Jesus you can never be the same!

We witness in John chapter 4 there is a woman drawing water from a well who has had several husbands and is likely struggling with low self-worth. She has an encounter with Jesus at that well. He tells her about the Living Water that will cause her to never thirst again. She walked away changed because He filled her up with Himself. No longer did she have to feel shame or rejection because of her situation. The impact caused her to go tell the whole town about Jesus and what He did for her!

In Matthew 9 we witness another woman who had an issue that caused her to bleed continuously for 12 years. She tried all that she could to get well, but nothing worked. She too had an encounter with Jesus and by simply touching the hem of His garment, she was healed from that issue.

Acts 9 tells us about a man who persecuted those who believed Jesus was the Son of God. On his way to the city of Damascus to continue in his persecution of believers, he encounters Jesus! The impact was so great that he was made blind for three days. However, the greater impact was that he experienced transformation. This man was the Apostle Paul, who went on to not only believe that Jesus was who He said He was, but to bring the message of Christ to the gentiles, establish churches in various cities, and to author much of the New Testament Bible that we read today.
